Straight Arithmetic

Does Membership Pay for Itself?

On one grant application, yes — and we would rather show you the numbers than ask you to take our word for it.

RLEDC’s application-assistance fee for the Route 66 Legacy Business Grant Fund is $750 for non-members and $300 for members. Add the $250 membership to the member fee and you are at $550 — $200 less than the non-member price, with a full year of everything else on this page included.

If you apply for two programs in a year, the gap widens to $650. If you apply for none, membership is worth what the directory listing, referrals, workshop seats, and grant alerts are worth to you — and that is a judgment only you can make.

Where Membership Does Not Help

It does not improve your odds with any funder. Grant decisions are made by the awarding organization, never by RLEDC. Anyone who tells you a membership buys influence with a review committee is selling something, and it is not membership.

You save $200 in year one — and everything else on this page comes with it. A second application in the same year saves another $450.

What You Get

Member Benefits

Four categories. Nothing here is available at these terms to non-members.

One

Member Pricing

  • Discounted flat-fee rate on grant application support — members pay less for the same service
  • The discount applies across every grant program RLEDC supports, as they become available
  • $500 new website build — a members-only rate for a professionally built business site
  • One free eligibility pre-screen per year, with no commitment to apply
Two

Priority Access

  • Members’ applications are scheduled first during high-demand grant cycles
  • First invitation to RLEDC workshops — grant writing, digital readiness, accessibility compliance — before seats open to the public
Three

Visibility & Referrals

  • Listing in RLEDC’s members-only business and nonprofit directory at rledc.org, with a link to your site
  • Direct referrals — RLEDC points visitors and partners to members first
  • Recognition for grand openings, milestones, and expansions on RLEDC channels
Four

Member-Only Alerts

  • Early access to the grant-alert list — new state, federal, and foundation opportunities, ahead of general release
  • Priority letter of support from RLEDC for bank, USDA, or state (LEDA) financing applications

What Stays Free for Everyone

Eligibility questions answered by phone. The published grant guidance on this site. The opportunities listings, resource library, and community profile. RLEDC is a 501(c)(3) with a charitable purpose, and the front door stays open whether or not you ever pay us a dollar.

Fit

Who Membership Suits

A Good Fit If…

  • You expect to apply for at least one grant in the next twelve months.
  • You are a small business or nonprofit operating in Eastern New Mexico.
  • You want to be found — a directory listing and referrals matter to you.
  • You would use a workshop seat on grant writing or accessibility compliance.
  • You are planning a bank, USDA, or LEDA financing application and could use a letter of support.
  • You need a website built and $500 is the difference between doing it and not.

Probably Not Worth It If…

  • You have no grant applications planned and no interest in the directory.
  • You operate outside the region and would not use the local referrals.
  • You handle your own grant writing and would not use the assistance service.
  • You are looking for something that improves your odds with funders — membership does not do that, and we will not pretend otherwise.
